The neutron detectors 70 060 - 70 065 are proportional counter tube filled with Helium-3 to provide maximum sensitivity for thermal neutrons. Due to its high sensitivity to neutrons and the very low sensitivity to Gamma-radiation it is suitable for portable instruments detecting neutrons and for neutron measurements in narrow cavities or pipes as well.
We are also have the possibility to supply He-3 neutron detectors as a reference type for your other neutron measurement devices. The thermal neutron sensitivity is based on measurements at the “PTB Thermal Neutron Calibration Facility” (Braunschweig, Germany). The neutron reference field of this facility is built by the neutrons escaping from the surface of a graphite moderator at 30cm distance.
