Dose Area Product Measuring System VacuDAP

VacuDAP systems - patient safety by Dose Area Product monitoring

The European Guideline 2013/59/EURATOM requires the determination of the patient dose in X-ray applications especially with children and when using higher doses. The VacuDAP system for automatic measuring of the dose area product complies fully with this requirement. (IEC 60580)

The modular VacuDAP dose area product measuring system offers various ionization chambers and configurations for a wide range of X-ray equipment. The VacuDAP measuring system is used to measure the Dose Area Product (DAP). This value is most suitable to indicate the patient dose in X-ray diagnostics.

The transparent ionization chambers fit easily into the accessory rails at the collimator. Adapted circular ionization chambers are used for complete integration into C-arm machines. All devices are equipped with a serial interface for transfer data files to a printer or a PC. Different printer, adaptor and PC software is available as an accessory.

Air Kerma- / Dosisflächenprodukt Messystem - VacuDAP duo

VacuDAP systems - patient safety by Dose Area Product and Air kerma monitoring

The system VacuDAP duo allows to determine Dose Area Product, Dose Area Product Rate, Air Kerma, Air Kerma Rate and irradiation time.

So the system fully complies with international regulations for Patient Dosimetry in radiography and fluoroscopy systems (IEC 60601-2-54, IEC 60601-2-43, 21 CFR 1020.32, IEC 60580).

VacuDAP accessory

For the VacuDAP product series different accessory parts can be offered. Rails and adapters allow the installation of DAP chambers at all common collimators. The battery pack and Bluetooth adapter simplify installation and increase flexibility in the use of systems VacuDAP. Printer for documentation of measurement results can also be connected to the measuring systems.

Software DAP-Storing

The software DAP-Storing has been designed to provide a convenient method for displaying and saving measured data on a Personal Computer. It is used together with the display units for the VacuDAP-Measuring systems of the following specifications:

Display unit 70 943 (firmware version 1.436 and higher)

  • VacuDAP standard, Part No. 943 00 01
  • VacuDAP twin, Part No. 943 00 02
  • VacuDAP duo, Part No. 943 00 03
  • VacuDAP fluoro, Part No. 943 00 04
  • VacuDAP Bluetooth®, Part No. 943 00 06

All measurement data and status information are presented in a similar way as on the display unit. Furthermore, the data can be saved in a database and stored in different file formats (txt, csv and xls). The display of the database can be optionally hidden. The connection status is shown at the upper right corner of the program GUI.

USB - Converter for VacuDAP

With the converter, a VacuDAP measuring chamber can be connected to a PC with standard USB interface
and supplied with power. The converter is suitable for the following VacuDAP versions with MEDI-SNAP®
connector:

VacuDAP – OEM
VacuDAP – OEM duo
VacuDAP-C
VacuDAP-C duo

CAN - Converter for VacuDAP

The VacuTec CAN - converter allows operation of VacuDAP - devices to an ISO11898 compliant bus (Controller Area Network).

The measuring instruments of the company VacuTec Messtechnik GmbH are completely transparent addressable with the native VacuTec protocol if the appropriate identifier is used (see manual or interface description). The CAN converter can be configured with user-specific-parameters (CAN identifier, baud rate, separation of the measured values, etc.) by means of simple CAN commands.

The CAN converter provides two different interface standards. This includes a D-Sub 9 - female (952 00 65) or, alternatively, a RJ45 - Plug (952 00 66). An ODU MediSnap-jack allows connecting the VacuDAP devices.

Battery-pack for VacuDAP

The Bluetooth®- measuring chamber and the VacuDAP compact can be operated with a battery pack. Thus the systems are independent of a mains power supply. By means of a locking mechanism, the battery pack can be easily fixed or replaced at the measuring chamber.

Bluetooth adapter for VacuDAP

For all VacuDAP measuring chambers with serial interface VacuTec offers Bluetooth®- module. With the module, it is possible to transmit the measured data wireless or control commands between the measuring chamber and Bluetooth®-display.

Adapter for additional filter

The adapter (eg. 157-00-77 and 157-00-79) consist of powder coated aluminum. They can be fixed by two screws M4 to the collimator. The DAP chamber is inserted with the nominal size of the adapter rails and fastened with a countersunk screw. Above the DAP chamber can be inserted a pediatric filter or compensation filter. Below the DAP chamber are slots for a constant filter.

Printer

For the data output following printers can be connected to the serial interface RS-232:

Seiko DPU 414

  • Ideally station printer
  • Thermal printing without a ribbon
  • Label width 60 mm
  • Speed ??max. 102 mm / sec.
  • power supply included

Label printer Zebra ZD410

  • compact thermal printer
  • incl. power supply
  • printer cable and labels available
